Bexio is built as your personal gift memory vault and creative companion — designed to help you track gifts you give and receive, capture your loved ones' preferences, and spark fresh gifting inspiration. Privacy is at the core of everything we build, so this policy explains clearly how we handle your data.
1. What Data Do We Process?
By design, Bexio is built to keep your personal content private. We separate data into two categories:
- Your Personal Content (Stored Exclusively on Your Device): This includes all data you add to Bexio: photos of gifts you give or receive, gift logs (names, occasions, notes, recipient details), people profiles, portraits, preference tags, saved gift inspiration from Serendipity Spin, and your archive timeline. All of this data never leaves your personal device. We do not store, transmit, or access any of this personal content on our servers.
- Optional Anonymous Diagnostic Data: If you choose to enable crash reporting to help us improve Bexio, we may receive non-identifiable data about app performance. This data never includes your personal content or any information that can be linked to your identity.
- Serendipity Spin, our tool that randomly pairs preference tags to generate gift inspiration, runs entirely on your device — your personal tags never leave your device to create ideas.
- Browsing your monthly timeline, filtering by person/occasion, and viewing fullscreen photos all happen locally on your device.
- We maintain no central database of your memories or your loved ones' preferences.
2. How We Protect Your Privacy
Since your personal content never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up or share it, we have no access to your private memories. This means:
- We never sell, rent, or share your personal content with any third party for any reason.
- We never use your personal content for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purposes.
- We cannot share your data with any external party because we do not hold a copy of your data.
We recommend you use your device's built-in security features (such as biometrics or passcodes) to protect access to your Bexio vault, as your data is stored directly on your device.
3. Your Full Control Over Your Data
All of your data is stored on your device, so you retain 100% control over it at all times:
- You can edit, delete, export, or back up any of your data directly within Bexio at any time, no request to our team required.
- Uninstalling Bexio from your device will permanently delete all Bexio data from your device.
- If you choose to back up your Bexio data to your personal cloud storage, that backup is governed by your cloud provider's privacy policy.
4. Device Permissions & Third Parties
Bexio only requests access to device features that are required for core functionality:
- Camera access: To let you take new photos of gifts directly in the app. We never access or share these photos with any third party.
- Photo library access: To let you add existing photos to your gift logs. All photos stay stored locally on your device.
We do not integrate with any third-party services that access your personal content, other than optional anonymous crash reporting that never includes your private data.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes to Bexio's features or privacy practices. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy and notify you through the app before changes take effect. We encourage you to review this policy regularly.
